I went to Wonderwool yesterday and thought I’d share my day out with you.
Wonderwool? Its a ‘trade show’ (or as they call it ‘A Festival of Welsh Wool & Natural Fibres) for spinners & weavers and other crafters, and was held at the Royal Welsh Show grounds in Builth Wells.
The forecast was for rain, and it looked like it was right on the drive there, but by the afternoon it was a brilliantly sunny day!
I found some new suppliers, and bought some lovely silk fibres, which I will be putting up on etsy & ebay in the coming weeks, but this post is just about some of the people, and animals (!), who I came across during my day out.
Apologies to the others who haven’t got featured, it was a big show and I didn’t get around it all, and I kept getting distracted by all the nice stuff there, and forgot to get my camera out!
So here is a gallery of the photos I DID take – hover over the pictures to see the caption, or click on them to get a slide show – you may need to do this to read the full descriptions – I have given the contact details for all those featured.
And look out for the May/June issue of Yarn Maker whose editor I met several times in my meanders, and who was also taking pictures for a feature. (www.yarnmaker.co.uk)

Oh, how I wish I was there. I volunteered for WSD on behalf of my guild last year at The Knitting and Stitching Show and had such fun talking with everybody. I bought fibre from Little Owl! Small world 😊

thanks for your comment – it is a small world – sometimes – smile
by the way, when I sent an email to Little Owl, to let her know the picture was up, it got returned for some reason -used the email address in the catalogue – if you have one, could you either let her know from me, that I tried to contact her, or alternatively, use my “contact me” page to let me know the email address you have, so that I can resend the email?
Am looking for people who would like to showcase their work – the idea is that anyone can send in one photo of something they made, and I’ll put up a gallery of all the photos I get in – submission during the month of May – please feel free to contribute!

Hm, I don’t think I got Little Owl’s email but I’ll look and let you know. I haven’t spun her fibre yet but it would be a great excuse to do so in May, does spinning count?

no problem about the email address – it was just a thought!

I just read it, and it’s any type of crafts? Would it be too cheeky of me if I preferred to share my professional work instead? It’s what I’m most proud of, to be honest…

JEALOUS!! lol. What a great event. I just attended a small event locally and I always have to pick up a skein or too. There is always so much to see. We have a large event in our state in October. SAFF- Southeast Animal Fiber Fair. I’m taking vacation that week so I can spend as much time as I want drooling over fibers and talking to the animals. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Thanks for sharing – its always interesting to pick up new ideas – was just checking the directory this morning, and found I’d missed out a whole hall! Never mind, I was exhausted enough after not finishing two!
