Standard

Wonderwool – click on this link to see their website – is ….

A Festival of Welsh Wool & Natural Fibres

and is at the Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells over the weekend of 27 – 28 April.

I’m planning to be there on Saturday 27 April, but am just going as a visitor, and am not selling there.  However, I’ll be very pleased to meet anyone who wants to have a chat AND will be happy to bring any large items you order with me, to save you the postage.

If anyone would like to meet up, please contact me, either through the “leave a comment” box or directly at julz@julzweaving.plus.com, and we can exchange mobile numbers so we can find each other on the day.

I’d love to get some personal feedback from customers and find out how I can improve my service to you all!

Be nice to see you

Some new BRITSH WOOLS……and an apology!

Standard

herdwick wooljacob woolwensleydaleswaledale

I have just bought in some cones of Herdwick, Silver Jacob, Wensleydale & Swaledale Wool – all truly Pure British Wools from British Mills – suitable for weaving, both warp & weft, and of course for knitting.

To see the full details of these, please click on the links for either my ebay listings or my etsy shop just under my picture on the right of this blog.

The apology……in my previous blog – British Wools from British Mills, I was really pleased to have bought in some large cones of what I thought were British Wools from a British Mill.

It wasn’t until this week, when a prospective customer asked exactly what wools they were, that I went back to the British Mill, and asked them.   The way they advertised them gave me to understand that they were what I said they were.  However, it turned out that the wool is merino wool ie NOT FROM BRITAIN!  I feel like a total fool!

I have now changed the listings so that they are accurate!

bamboo feltOther new stock include some really soft and strong BAMBOO FELT (clicking on the red text will get you to the ebay listing).  This felt is made from 50% bamboo fibres and altho rather expensive, is unusual – it comes in 20 very bright colours – altho currently one was out of stock at the suppliers, so I only have 19 of them – do have a look at it, and tell me what you think, as I won’t be ordering any more unless people want it!

I have stocked up on both the standard sized & mini carders, and as the white merino rovings have sold out, I will be getting some more in soon – in the meantime, the ecru merino roving is a very good price!

New in is also some JUTE HESSIAN, and “DISHCLOTH COTTON” (click on the red text) both of which are useful for all sorts of crafts and also good for garden use!  And other odds & ends – again, to see the full range please click on the links beside my picture.

purple mini weave I have also been playing around with some bits of mini weaving – squares of only 1.5 x 1.5″ (40 mm x 40 mm) made on a tiny loom, that could be used for making into brooches, or added as decoration to tapestry, embroidery or felting projects – I’d be interested to know what you think – only listed on etsy HERE & HEREsmall weave

Just a reminder that the new Kromski stock is on sale – the warping sticks have sold out, and so have most of the Lazy Kates – there is one upright one left.  If you are buying a loom, please remember that the prices on the listings necessarily include the selling fees on the sites and that if you do want to buy one, email me first, at  julz@julzweaving.plus.com, and I will give you a discount if you buy direct! (see info on the About Julz Page)

I can also order in any particular items you want – including spinning wheels – so please ask if you don’t see what you need.

That’s all for now

The Kromski stock has finally arrived!

Standard

you might remember,

well I had to look back on this blog to see how long ago I promised that I was putting in an order to Kromski, as I had totally run out of all their products…..there was a reason I hadn’t re-ordered sooner, and it soon became all too obvious that nothing much had changed….

The Kromski looms and spinning wheels, and all their accessories, are brilliant – well made and reasonably priced – BUT – their customer service is abominable!  Emails go unanswered, I was told off for changing the order, and had to wait for weeks to get an estimate of the cost of postage from Poland – and then finally, with no warning, I get a “sorry we missed you” card thro the door from a courier who is going to charge me to redeliver!

So, whilst I apologise to all the customers who had put deposits on items, and were kept waiting for them for so long – I’m afraid it was really “OUT OF MY HANDS”!

However, all your orders are now in the post, and the new stock I bought is now listed on my ebay page and my etsy shop ( click on the highlighted words to go to the sites).

kromski's rigid heddle table loom

kromski’s rigid heddle table loom

I have got some more 24″ Harp Rigid Heddle Looms , together with accessories – extra heddles, shuttles, pick up sticks and warping sticks, as well as niddy noddies, drop spindles, nostepinnes etc.  Unfortunately, the delivery came just as there was a huge hike in the euro exchange rate, so I have had to put up the prices slightly.

However, as everyone on the mailing list for this blog, is a previous customer, and enrolled into the Members Club – should you wish to buy direct – and avoid the selling fees I have to add onto the prices, please contact me at julz@julzweaving.plus.com  and I will be able to give you a discount.

This offer applies to orders over £30, as the benefit is minimal for smaller orders.  If you want the discount, please DO NOT BUY on the sites, as once you have pressed BUY, the order will have gone through!

PLEASE DO REMEMBER that I will always combine postage if you buy multiple items on EBAY – any parcel that weighs under 750 gm will be posted for £2.50 (2nd class) or £3.50 (1st class) in the UK – IF YOU ASK FOR A REVISED INVOICE!  The system is slightly different on ETSY, and I have to create a “special listing” for you if you want to combine orders and get a better postage rate.  I will also always give the best postage rate FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS.

IF YOU WANT TO BUY ITEMS FROM BOTH SITES (as not all the items are repeated on both sites) – PLEASE ALSO CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BUY – and I will work out the best, and cheapest,  way for you to get what you need!

Notwithstanding the rant at the top of this blog – if you see an item on the Kromski website that I haven’t got in stock, please get in touch for prices and IF POSSIBLE (!) – I will order it in for you – smile!

All the best

yet another change of plan……

Standard

In the last newsletter/blog I was getting organised for my knee replacement op – I didn’t want to disappoint my customers by not being able to supply you for a couple of weeks whilst I was in hospital, and post op, when I wouldn’t be able to get around properly …….. and then I get notification of a change of date!

Currently, (and I now can only say this is the latest news, and it may change once again,) the op is now scheduled for 19 October, a month later than expected……I do love and appreciate the NHS, and hate the threats its under courtesy of our current government, but just at the moment, it’s making it rather difficult to plan ……..

However, unless you see a notice on my listings that I am away and will not be able to post orders for a while – its BUSINESS AS USUAL!

If you read the last post, you will know that I was about to put in a new order to Kromski in Poland for more stock, but as their delivery times are erratic, I thought it best to wait until after the op, and that still applies – however, I would still like to know what items you would like me to add to the order when it finally goes in……..so please get in touch if you know you want a specific loom, spinning wheel or anything else.  You can get info from the kromski website here.

In the meantime, I still have a number of the 24″ rigid heddle looms in stock and these are currently being advertised on ebay, with the carrying bag,  for  £159 + £13 postage – The loom is pictured in the last blog and to see the full details, please click here

CLUB members – or anyone who reads this blog – may buy the loom & bag direct from me POST FREE (UK BUYERS ONLY)

To buy direct, please email me at julz@julzweaving.plus.com with your order – don’t forget to give me your name & address & paypal email address –  and I will send you a paypal invoice, and promise to send you your loom within a day or two of receipt of payment.

If you want to pay by cheque, I will have to wait until the cheque clears – please just contact me to make the arrangements.

I will have a think about other special CLUB OFFERS to post – in time for pre Christmas buying…..and please let me know if there are any other items you would like to see on my etsy shop – etsy.com/shop/julzcraftsupplies.

I have set up a new page as a CLUB NOTICEBOARD.  One or two members have said they’d like to use this service, to ask for help and advice as well as selling fleeces, advertising events etc, but have not yet got back to me with full details…….you’re all welcome to use this service – as my customers are not only in the UK, but worldwide – notices can be  international.

PS – If you liked the look of the mini cards I attach to your receipts and would like to get some of your own business cards printed by the same firm – just click on the box below!  Be warned that it can be a bit complicated to design them – the last set I did took me ages – but that was because I uploaded loads of pictures to put on the backs!  For international customers – they deliver worldwide and are pretty cheap to use…..enuf of the plugs – I also get commission from any orders you put in……..smile.
